Use Management Agreement for Operation of the Complex
Background from Maricopa County Parks and Recreation Department (MCPRD):
- October 20, 2012 a Use Management Agreement was executed with Helzapoppin Rod and Gun Club, d.b.a. Buckeye Sportsman Club (“Concessionaire”), to manage, operate, maintain and improve the public shooting range. This agreement ends on December 31, 2016. Separate agreements in place between the current Concessionaire and agencies also end on December 31, 2016.
- In summary, the current manager (Buckeye Sportsman Club, a non-profit) will not be renewing their option to extend their existing agreement with the County.
- Therefore we (MCPRD) have issued documents to see if there are any non-profit entities or a government facility that may be interested in managing this public shooting range. The context of the LOI specifically provide for entities that are non-profit or government as this is a restriction in our land patent.
